Frequently Asked Questions
How can I enroll into this training event?
You can enroll into this event by purchasing the Practical Application of FETI (In-person) course. Once purchased you can select this event (or another of your choosing) on your dashboard. If you are an organization looking to send multiple people to this event, please email us at tellmemore@certifiedfeti.com and we can quickly assist you with enrollment.
Can I attend this course if I have never had any other training in FETI?
No, this course does have a prerequisite requirement of receiving a certificate of completion for a learning course. It is important to know what FETI is and how to conduct a FETI interview before participating in a course that practices the technique. The online FETI Methodology course, the in-person Introduction to FETI course or the in-person Accelerated FETI course all fulfill this prerequisite requirement.
Does this course certify me in FETI?
No, this course does not certify you as a Certified FETI Practitioner (CFP). This course is to practice the FETI Methodology that was learned during either the online FETI Methodology course or the in-person Introduction to FETI course. You do receive a certificate of completion for the Practical Application of FETI course if you are present for all instruction and complete all required coursework and exercises. To be certified as a FETI Practitioner (Basic, Intermediate or Advanced) you must participate in a separate process where you are evaluated to assess your proficiency and skill level utilizing the FETI Methodology. The Practical Application of FETI course is one of the best ways to prepare for that process.
What certificate do I receive after this course?
Each person who successfully completes the Practical Application of FETI course (is present for all instruction and completes all required coursework and exercises) receives a Certificate of Course Completion that outlines the course date and number of course hours.
Am I required to be present for all course instruction?
If you would like to receive a Certificate of Course Completion you will need to be present for all of the course instruction. This course begins promptly at 9:00 am each day and concludes at 5:00 pm. This includes the final day of training. We are unable to make exceptions for individual travel needs or professional obligations as the course curriculum cannot be tailored to specific individuals.
Is there food and beverage provided at this training?
Certified FETI does not provide food or beverages at their training courses. There are multiple breaks and a minimum of one hour allotted for lunch each day of training. Individual host agencies may choose to provide some catering but as that is not facilitated via Certified FETI we are unable to guarantee this offering. Attendees are not limited from bringing food and beverage items unless it is specifically noted in the Event Overview section.
I can no longer attend and the cancellation window has passed. Can a colleague go in my place?
Absolutely. We are happy to facilitate your registration being moved to an alternate person. Please keep in mind that the new registrant will need to meet any prerequisite requirements for the Practical Application of FETI course (online FETI Methodology Course or the in-person Introduction to FETI Course)..
About the Course
During the Practical Application of the Forensic Experiential Trauma Interview course attendees apply and practice the elements of the FETI Methodology – both as an interviewer and participant of an interview. This three-day, in-person classroom experience includes live examples of FETI interviews, guided interview instruction and practice, and interactive instructor feedback. Attendees experience and practice actual FETI interviews in front of other attendees who will offer critique facilitated by a Certified FETI Instructor.
All Interview Participants Share Real, Personal Experiences
Each attendee performs the role of interviewee (participant) multiple times during the course, sharing personal experiences chosen at their discretion. Certified FETI instructional courses are unique in that all our interview participants are not distracted with having to role play or memorize created scenarios. This allows each interview session to more accurately reflect how the FETI Methodology is utilized outside of a training environment and allows each attendee to experience what it is like to be interviewed in this style. Many attendees remark how valuable this part of the course was for them.
This course includes practical exercises, one-on-one practice interviews and group practice interviews along with comprehensive class discussion.
This course does not certify an attendee in FETI®. Non-participating attendees will be removed from the course with no refund of registration fee.
In order to participate in the Practical Application course you must first receive a certificate of completion for a learning course. The online FETI Methodology course, the in-person Introduction to FETI course or the in-person Accelerated FETI course all fulfill this prerequisite requirement.
